When can I rent a Check scooter?
In most cities, you can only use the scooter between 6am and 1am. In Amsterdam, The Hague, Breda and Rotterdam, you can use the Check scooter day and night.

Can I rent a Check scooter with my NS season ticket?
You cannot rent a Check scooter with your NS season ticket. You choose the payment method you want to use during your registration in the Check app.

Can I rent a Check scooter with my OV-chipkaart?
No, you cannot. You can pick you preferred payment method when you sign up in the Check app. Unfortunately, you can't use your NS season ticket or OV-chipkaart.

How much does it cost to rent a scooter?
You rent a Check scooter for €0.34 per minute, with a starting rate from €0.75 cents. Parking costs €0.15 cents per minute.

How do I pay for trips?
During your registration with Check, you choose how you want to pay. The cost of your rides is debited once a month. This happens between the 1st and 5th working day of each month.
Are the costs higher than € 25? Then the amount will be debited immediately.

Am I insured?
Yes, every Check shared scooter has liability insurance. Here are the Terms and Conditions and insurance details for Check shared scooters.

Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes, it is mandatory to wear a helmet on all scooters.
In every scooter you will find 2 helmets and hair nets in the top case. Of course you can also use your own helmet.

I've never ridden a scooter before
No problem! Check out the instructions before you start, watch the tutorials in the Check app or practice at a slow speed first. Electric scooters accelerate quickly and are very quiet. Keep your distance from other road users and slow down when you overtake cyclists.

Can I ride my Check scooter to other cities?
You can, but we advise against it. After all, you have to start and end your trip in the same service area. Some cities are in the same service area. Make sure to check whether your destination is in the same service area before you set off.
If you end your trip in another service area, we will charge you € 50 for moving the scooter. You're free to pause your scooter in another city and return to the original service area later.

Do I need a driving license?
Yes, to ride an electric scooter you need a driving license for motorbikes (type A) and / or cars (type B) or a moped licence. You also have to be above the age of 18 to rent a scooter. Before you start your first trip, upload your driving license in the Check app.

What is a service area?
The service area is the purple area shown in the Check app. This is the area where you can start and end your trip.

Can I take a passenger with me on a scooter?
Yes, you can. Both the driver and passenger are insured on Check scooters, provided you obey the traffic rules.
About the scooter

How far can I go on a full battery?
You can ride about 40-50 km with a full battery. Keep in mind that you should end your ride in the service area where you started your ride.
Do you end it in another service area anyway? Then you will pay € 50 for moving the scooter.

Do the scooters have phone holders?
Yes, Check scooters have a phone holder. You can easily adjust it to your phone with the knob at the back of the holder. Make sure to fasten the knob to keep your phone snug & secure.
