Are you 12 to 17 years old? As a young person, you will receive your NS Flex Dal Voordeel season ticket from us as a gift. This way, you always travel with a 40% discount during off-peak hours, the weekend and on public holidays.

When can you travel with a discount as a young person?
You do not have to pay subscription costs until your 18th birthday. You check in with your OV-chipkaart and travel at these times with a 40% discount:
- Off-peak hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00 and 18:30 to 6:30.
- Weekend: Friday evening 18:30 to Monday morning 4:00.
- Public holidays: all day.
Who orders the season ticket?
Someone aged 18 or older orders the season ticket for you. For example, your mother or grandfather. We call that person the contract holder.
- The contract holder pays for your travels every month by direct debit. That person receives the invoice and sees your travels in Mijn NS.
- As a young person, you receive your own OV-chipkaart with which the season ticket is registered and which you can use to travel.
- Do you want to arrange something regarding your season ticket? The contract holder has an NS account with which they can log in to Mijn NS.
When you turn 18
Have you celebrated your 18th birthday? Then the season ticket will automatically continue with subscription costs of € 5.95 per month.
What do you get with NS Flex Dal Voordeel for youth?
Get on all public transport with 1 OV-chipkaart
With NS Flex you travel from door to door. For example by bus, tram or OV-fiets.
Always travel directly, without a train ticket
No more need for a separate train ticket. The contract holder pays the travel costs monthly in arrears.
Cancel or change monthly
Tried the season ticket? The contract holder can change or cancel after 1 month.

I'm under 18 years old. Who will order the season ticket for me?

- The contract holder sees your travels in Mijn NS and on the monthly invoice.

- Do you want to give a Co-travel discount? This can be done via the NS account of the contract holder.

Does the offer also apply to buses, metro, trams and trains other than NS?
You also get a 40% discount during off-peak hours, weekends and public holidays on trains from other carriers. You travel without discount on buses, metros and trams.

What happens to the season ticket when I turn 18?
The season ticket simply continues. The contract holder - the person who pays the invoices - pays subscription costs for NS Flex Dal Voordeel from the first contract month after your 18th birthday. For example, if you turn 18 on 16 May and your new contract month starts on 17 May, the season ticket will no longer be free from that date.

Until 31 July 2025. After that, the ticket is no longer valid.

My child has Kids Vrij. How do they switch to free NS Flex Dal Voordeel?
When your child turns 12, we will automatically stop that season ticket for you. You can then order NS Flex Dal Voordeel for young people yourself; put the season ticket on your child's OV-chipkaart. You will not pay any subscription costs until their 18th birthday.
Your child will travel with a 40% discount during off-peak hours, weekends and public holidays. You, as the contract holder, will pay the travel costs.
